Bheemunipatnam is a place seeped in mythological lore. It got its name after the legendary figure Bhima (second among the 5 Pandavas). According to a legend, during the Aranyavasa period, Bhima killed Bakasura and installed Sri Lakshmi Narasimha idol atop the hill.
